    Your role in the team

     

    This is an exciting opportunity to join Allstate Northern Ireland (ANI) as we build out a small team in ANI, with various levels of experience to develop reporting and ETL processes for our Claims organization.

    As a Data Reporting & Visualization Analyst you will be responsible for supporting the information needs of the Claims Workflow COE department. You will contribute to the development of data and information delivery solutions in response to business initiatives and issues. You will investigate, track, prioritize, and communicate data and reporting related issues. You will use data and reports to tell a story, adding value and identifying opportunities where you see potential for Claims to work more efficiently

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

     

     

    Technology Requirements

     

    • Collaborates with and consults to leadership regarding technology needs and solutions
    • Maintains adherence to Information Security Standards for employees and leaders
    • Identify opportunities to enhance and automate existing reporting processes
    • ETL development /Writing analytics programs (transformations/calculations)
      • MSSQL
      • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) 
      • Stored Procedures
      • Oracle
      • Dremio
      • Python
      • C#
    • Using the above tools to structure data for use in data visualization environments (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) 
    • Works within an Agile Scrum environment to deliver value to the stake holders
    • Customer Service
    • Makes and maintains a connection with the stake holder by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the stake holder with empathy; and follows up to ensure that stake holder needs have been met
    • Researches and responds to moderately complex and occasionally complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues

     

    Reporting Requirements

     

    • Preparing reports that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data to enable leader’s visibility of progress towards Claims strategic goals
    • Assists and leads in developing analytics “story” and visual presentation strategies to ensure data is conveyed in meaningful and interpretive formats for all audience levels.
    • Analyzes structured and unstructured data from a number of sources to identify drivers.
    • Reviews results, identifies variances to planned performance, analyzes causes of variance and make actionable recommendations to product owner.
    • Create and articulate a story based off multiple data points.

      

      Other

     

    • Build relationships across teams and departments, work as part of a team.
    • Manage time effectively including ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize workload.

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • A minimum of 2 years’ related experience in development/writing analytics programs.
    • Knowledge with relational databases and data warehouses (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Dremio)

     

    The successful candidate must also demonstrate competencies in:

     

    • Microsoft Excel skill (ex. sum function, charts, sorting, filters)
    • Applies knowledge of analytical procedures to reconcile, manipulate, and recognize patterns of data
    • Ability to problem solve and prepare reports for analysis, with strong focus on attention to detail
    • Ability to mentor and develop others as well as review code for efficiency

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Bachelors degree in related field
    • Business Objects Experience
    • Business Intelligence, including strong understanding of corporate structure
    • Knowledge of Claims data available in ADW is a plus.
