    Your role in the team

     

    We are excited to announce the opportunity to join the Allstate Canada Group Integrations Enablement Team within Allstate Canada (ACG) whose vision is to improve, simplify and modernize ACG integrations.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Product Owner to play a key role within this global team which will comprise members from Allstate Northern Ireland, Allstate Canada Group and Allstate India.

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

     

    • Understanding and managing the team vision, goals and objectives
    • Prioritizing and managing backlog items
    • Creation and refinement of the Product Vision and KPIs
    • Identifying and shaping Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
    • Communicating sprint goals to the team
    • Maintaining a holistic product view helping to keep the scrum team focused on the Product Vision and KPIs
    • Developing Scrum requirements in collaboration with the scrum team using the most appropriate method and style
    • Critically reviewing all requests to determine viability, alternatives, and value to the customer.
    • Analyzing tradeoffs between usability and technical viability
    • Actively participating in the definition, sizing and estimation of epics, stories and tasks obtaining requirements from stakeholders at all levels and writing epics and stories to detail these requirements
    • Defining backlog items using most appropriate style and content to right level of detail
    • Story writing – adding details, UX, acceptance criteria and refining stories into suitably sized independent work items
    • Collaborating with the Scrum Master and other teams to deliver high quality releases, pushing stories to meet the definition of done
    • Managing Change
    • Reviewing and accepting work based on story requirements and the definition of done
    • Demoing deliverables to stakeholders at all levels
    • Sharing responsibility for performing exploratory and end-to-end testing
    • Sharing knowledge for maintaining functional testing scripts

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • At minimum 4 years’ experience in a technical role including a minimum of 1 years’ previous experience in a product owner/manager OR Business/System Analyst OR Technical Leadership focused role

     

    The successful candidate must also demonstrate competency in:

     

    • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal & written
    • Be a self-starter who can work unsupervised
    • Ability to work well in a distributed team environment

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

     

    • Experience with Agile frameworks for example Scrum and PI Planning
    • An understanding of Integrations systems including SpringBoot APIs, Kafka and Talend
    • Experience in coaching, mentoring and guiding team members
