    Your role in the team

     

     

     

    We are excited to announce a development opportunity in the Integration Enablement team within Allstate Canada (ACG) with a focus on developing, improving and modernizing the state of ACG integrations through the implementation of the Talend solution.

     

     

    We are looking for an Integration Developer to play a key role within this global team which will comprise members from Northern Ireland, Canada and India.

     

     

     

    • Design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of organizational level data solutions using the Talend application
    • Understanding the technical non-functional requirements and translating them into a deliverable design
    • Leverage secure development standards to provide the appropriate level of security
    • Design, development, testing and deployment using middleware systems
    • Use and promote common development tools and practices within the team
    • General support of fully integrated, highly available production integration environments
    • Analysis of information systems processes, monitoring of key performance metrics and creation of standard performance dashboards/reports
    • Participate in code reviews to ensure consistent adherence to standards and make recommendations where necessary
    • Delivery of high quality documentation as required
    • Effective communication with team mates, business stakeholders and other technology teams
    • Work effectively as part of a distributed team within agile scrum delivery frameworks

     

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

     

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical role
    • Must have either:
    • Knowledge of the structure and best practices of API development


    Or

     

    • Experience of testing and maintaining integration systems using Talend, Tibco or equivalent ETL tool; and
    • Ability to perform basic database development and query (i.e. SQL)

     

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

     

    • Experience with documenting interfaces or integration points
    • Experience with API Gateway tools such as Datapower
    • Experience with API performance management tools
    • Understanding microservice architectural approach in designing of distributed systems
    • Experience with JavaScript or Python
    • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB) and in-memory caching solutions (e.g. Redis, Pivotal Cloud Cache)
    • Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and related data management services (e.g. MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience working in Agile (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, XP) environments
