    Your role in the team

     

     

    The Security Governance Consultant I contributes to tasks supporting the development and evaluation of programs, processes, and procedures to mitigate cybersecurity risk and ensure protection of company information and assets; assists with research and develops understanding of pertinent Information Security policies and standards, industry and government regulations, as well as contracts and security requirements for third-party systems.

     

     

     

    The Security Governance Consultant supports in the operational day to day access control processes, supports the governance of SOX and operational controls, applies professional knowledge and recommends solutions where applicable.

     

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

     

    • Manage the recertifications of user access, including privileged access across various applications and infrastructure layers.
    • Manage the Cyber risks within the department for remediation/extension.
    • Assist the testing, debugging, performance analysis and documenting of the security access control solutions.
    • Develops understanding of business and technical needs for assigned area; contributes to tasks in support of development, communication and execution of programs and processes that provide guidance and promote cybersecurity risk awareness and management in alignment with operational needs.
    • Contributes to tasks in support of ongoing and audits of governance process and procedure compliance; documents and organizes results for use by business and more-senior governance roles. 
    • Performs basic research and materials preparation in support of information security policies and supporting documentation, regulatory, contract, and industry requirements for cybersecurity governance; assists in the creation, organization, and ongoing maintenance of desk level procedures and required documentation
    • Learns and becomes familiar with strategies for effective communication and successful interaction with peers
    • Review and build knowledge on published security policies and standards with good oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to think conceptually, analytically, and creatively
    • Be able to work effectively in a team environment whilst performing well in a fast-paced environment

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • 1+ years of related IT governance or risk management or compliance experience.
    • Basic decision-making skills and ability to escalate when appropriate
    • Ability to establish and manage relationships with internal and external partners
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to analyze data and apply it to problem resolution

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Candidates with understanding of databases, operating systems/infrastructure preferred.
    • Basic SQL/automation skills would be a plus
    • CompTIA Security+ certification
