    Your role in the team

     

     

    As a Strategic Communications Specialist you will support the strategic communications of the Allstate Technology Availability, Stability and Resiliency program by developing communication plans, producing materials, and coordinating associated deliverables in support of effectively helping stakeholders across technology and the business understand and align to program objectives.

    Please note this role is being offer on a 12 months fixed term contract, with the possibility of being extended or becoming permanent

     

     Responsibilities include (but are not limited to); 

     

    Develops communications plans and tactics

     

    • Drives the creation of communications that are relevant and understandable to key stakeholders including other information technology and business leaders
    • Develops long-range, integrated program and project communications plans that increase awareness and understanding of business objectives and results that will impact significant change.
    • Has a clear understanding of the business issues and directs communication strategies to help drive and support business outcomes.
    • Leads brainstorming sessions regarding root cause analysis of business issues and/or opportunities that lead to the development of Strategic Plans and Communications of the highest complexity, scope and impact to the organization.
    • Partners with data teams to manage the governance and production of the executive-level program dashboards, which includes key performance and outcome metrics that provide transparency into the effectiveness of the program and strategic messaging aligned with targeted outcomes.

     

     

    Prepares communications and strategic program content

     

    • Prepares influential executive level presentations to facilitate fact-based program updates.
    • Establishes and maintains effective management and reporting routines that allow the leadership to focus on top priorities and strategy.
    • Prepares and partners with key stakeholders to deliver executive level reports and presentations
    • Takes lead in coaching and probing the most senior team members to extract data that needs to be communicated. Translates the input and feedback into a communications approach that will help achieve desired outcomes.
    • Assists teams with structuring their communications to show the impact to the overall strategy. Applies understanding of program strategies to defining most appropriate communications approaches.
    • Creates content outlines for the most complex items and those pieces that are standard-setting for broad initiatives or that require solutions that are more strategic, imaginative and thorough.
    • Develops error-free strategically targeted written communications that meet the requirements, create understanding of complex subject matter, and effectively uses language in an innovative and creative way to reinforce key messages

     

     

    Manages content review for communications materials

     

    • Directs the standards and strategic intent of the content review cycle process to ensure it is meeting the needs of the program.
    • Adapts communication techniques for audiences at multiple levels.
    • Partners with the Program and initiative leaders to manage and oversee the status and key risks and issues.

     

    Develops and maintains effective partnerships

     

    • Possesses cross-functional awareness; understands the different contributions from other disciplines and work with colleagues from across the organization to achieve better results.
    • Enhances others communications competence and actively develops other communicators.

     

    Provides strategic communications consulting and coaching

     

    • Provides ongoing strategic communications coaching and counsel accountable to all teams, including senior leaders, within the organization.
    • Advises top management and stakeholder on the development of program communication processes, cadence and quality.

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Communication, English, Journalism or related discipline
    • 5+ years of strategy and communications experience
    • 5+ years’ experience providing communications counsel to management teams
    • 2+ years’ experience developing compelling content and leveraging multiple channels for creative storytelling

     

    The successful candidate must also demonstrate a high competency in:

     

    • Excellent strategic thinking and end-to-end change management knowledge
    • Strong writing and editorial skills to create and execute transformative communications
    • Proven commercial experience with Microsoft Excel and the ability to analyze, manipulate, and interpret large amounts of data
    • Having a logical and analytical approach
    • Good problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to communicate well, build relationships and work as part of a team

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Project Management Experience
    • Postgraduate qualification
    • 2+ years’ experience developing strategic communications plans in support of high-priority projects
