    Your role in the team

     

    We are excited to announce a role within the Data Distribution team within Allstate Canada (ACG), focusing on developing, improving, and modernizing the extraction and use of data within ACG using technologies such as Talend & Kafka in an agile environment.

     

    We are looking for a Data Integration Engineer to play a key role within this global team, which will comprise team members from ACG, ANI and ASPL.

     

    • Design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of organizational level data solutions
    • Develop skills in implementing Secure development standards to provide the appropriate level of security
    • Use and promote common development tools and practices within the team
    • Analysis of information systems processes, monitoring of key performance metrics and creation of standard performance dashboards/reports
    • Participate in code reviews to ensure consistent adherence to standards and make recommendations where necessary
    • Delivery of high-quality documentation as required
    • Effective communication with team, business stakeholders and other technology teams
    • Work effectively as part of a distributed team within agile scrum delivery frameworks

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Experience working with Databases, including Database development and Querying (i.e. SQL)
    • Experience in Backend Development – using one of the following:

    o   Python

    o   Java

    o   .Net

    OR

     

    • ETL tools such as Talend, Tibco, Ab-initio or equivalent

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Experience as a Database Adminstrator (DBA)
    • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB) and in-memory caching solutions (e.g. Redis, Pivotal Cloud Cache)
    • Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and related data management services (e.g. MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
    • Experience in Kafka
    • Experience in Agile (Scrum / Kanban, XP) environment
