    Your role in the team

     

     

    Data has been at the heart of the insurance industry for many years and the amount generated daily is growing exponentially. A huge opportunity exists to create massive disruption to the insurance model due to technology improvements, which allows us to uncover greater insights.

     

    The Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence (AI COE) team will create an intense learning and development environment to develop skills at the cutting edge of technology. The resources on this team will be responsible for researching, designing, and building systems through implementation of supervised and unsupervised machine-learning techniques. Technologies and methodologies applied will include machine learning, information retrieval, artificial intelligence, computer vision, natural language processing, and/or ontology engineering technologies. Incumbents will work both individually and with small teams to envision and realize cutting-edge ideas through rapid prototyping, development and deployment. Teams will work on business problems and Proof of Concepts to help determine which opportunities to pursue further and share these findings to assist Allstate’s future product development.

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • BSc degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Physics or equivalent fields [Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence Modules preferred] or equivalent experience
    • 3 years relevant experience with programming/scripting
    • Experience using Machine Leaching techniques

     

     

    The successful candidate must also demonstrate a high competency in:

     

    • Experience of engaging with business stakeholders to solve real world problems
    • Interest and Capacity to learn new skills and stay abreast of new ML techniques
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, evolving, and challenging environment
    • Solid mathematics background (linear algebra, statistics, optimization)

     

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

     

    • Completed or working towards a MSc/PhD with subject matter expertise in a relevant area
    • Tensorflow, PyTorch or Similar Deep Learning framework
    • Experience using structured and unstructured data using Hadoop/RDMS/SQL
    • Experience of developing ML products from POC through to development and deployment
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms e.g. AWS, Azure
    • Experience with collaboration tools for coding such as GitHub
    • Experience with cloud deployments of applications (preferably ML applications) – AWS, Jenkins, Azure, Docker
