    Your role in the team

     

    The Project Management Office Agile Project Managers are accountable for successful technology solution/service delivery. You will partner with delivery teams to drive the delivery of technology projects and scrum teams as assigned.  You will be delivering project and scrum team results through leadership and influence rather than authority and control to achieve best possible delivery outcomes guided by 2.0 values while demonstrating the Allstate shared behaviors.

    As a Agile Project Manager, you will be responsible for directing strategic, enterprise level initiatives or DCIO level projects/Scrum Teams of high complexity and impact.  Accountable for leading all aspects of high complexity projects and scrum teams with the ability to provide project management on projects and lead scrum teams with the highest level of risk, organizational span, business complexity, team size, and interdependencies.

     

    • Directs strategic initiatives or DCIO level project of the highest complexity and impact
    • Demonstrates mastery of best practices in project management, Agile principles and communication processes and contributes to the improvement of these processes at Allstate
    • Demonstrates thought leadership in problem solving, staff development and effective interaction with senior management
    • Takes the lead role in highly pressurized situations when there is a need to communicate critical project information while remaining sensitive to organizational politics
    • Drives planning, execution and achievement of enterprise level projects success factors
    • Lead complex / critical project execution impacting teams, departments and aspects of functional and business results managing project relationships (DCIO, business & vendors). 
    • Independently capable of determining approach to managing projects understanding business strategic initiatives and objectives and how the project will deliver them using functional, business, and technical knowledge to deliver the best solution.
    • Recognize gap in processes and recommend holistic solutions for remedy or improvement
    • Manage multiple project deliveries using waterfall, multi-method or agile delivery methods from initiation through to deploy and close per agreed schedule, budget, quality and scope.
    • Provide direction and oversight throughout project lifecycle to achieve business objectives
    • Assess and report project health in an objective manner, maintaining transparency and accurate status; communicate project status and issues to be easily understood by the appropriate stakeholder audience
    • Motivate others to share in project challenges and inspire them to achieve project goals
    • Be a trusted advisor: provide independent thought leadership, direction and coaching; demonstrate ownership and accountability
    • Promoting Scrum/Agile Practices
    • Promote Scrum and Agile values, principles and practices
    • Coach and mentor multiple teams to achieve higher level of maturity on Agile/Scrum as required
    • Continuous benchmarking with industry best practice
    • Demonstrate 2.0 values and behaviors; be conversant on agile methodologies, tools and techniques and inject them into the project work as appropriate
    • Actively contribute to the PMO community
    • Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required from time to time

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • 3 years Project Management or Scrum Master experience in multiple technology environments and/or consulting experience in technology solutions
    • Demonstrated track record in delivering multiple complex projects or leading multiple complex scrum teams as well as managing/mentoring of project managers or scrum masters with a strong focus on execution
    • Experience of waterfall and agile development methodologies

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Experience of delivering complex multi-shore, multi-method projects.
    • Experience with dependency mapping and management for complex projects engaging multiple DCIOs or vendors.
    • Relevant project management / delivery / agile certifications e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Scaled Agile SA/SP
