  Allstate operate a very flexible hybrid working policy that will allow you to design your working week in collaboration with your manager with a blend of remote and office working for NI based employees as well as condensed working patterns (4 day week/9 day fortnight). Employees based in GB will be employed on a permanent remote working contract.

  Your role in the team

   

  Product Technology plays a critical role for Allstate in powering our Allstate Personal Lines insurance business and we are delighted to announce the opportunity to join our Product Technology Senior Leadership team, leading one of the Development Centres.

   

  As the largest publicly held personal lines property and casualty insurer in America, serving more than 16 million households nationwide, the Product Technology Platform is the core technology component in servicing >21 million of policies in force, handling millions of transactions daily and driving a multi-billion personal lines insurance annual revenue.

   

  Your focus will be to develop and execute on the transformation strategy necessary to change the Alliance software product in support of Transformative Growth , whilst maintaining high levels of availability in the current technology stack and driving delivery of Allstate Personal Lines business growth plans across all insurance products.   

   

  You will lead a team of 70+ Java engineers in a global organization across US, India and NI.  A key priority for this role is ensuring staff have an opportunity to further develop their engineering skills while maintaining the classic platform which is core to our business. 

   

  From a local perspective, your NI local leader remit may include leading additional teams outside your direct delivery responsibilities.

  So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

   

   

  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a software delivery environement 
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience including accountability for all aspects of leading an organization including people management & development across multiple global organisations, finance/budgetary management, client/partner relationships, strategy planning and implementation, work processes and delivery of work products;
  • Strong technical leadership and experience of software delivery at scale
  • Proven ability in strategy planning and implementation which has had an impact on the technology direction for the division, business segment and/or enterprise
  • Managing workload and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to manage talent and skills transition within a global organization/team including development of skills, succession planning and human capital planning
  • Previous experience of building and sustaining global relationships with business partners, stakeholders and vendors. 

   

   

   

   

  We also have some desirable criteria

   

   

  • 3rd level qualification (ideally within an IT related discipline)
  • Previous experience in an insurance environment – ideally at a leadership level
  • Previous experience managing at scale 30+ people
  • Software development experience – technical and leadership preferred
  • Previous experience working in an agile environment
  • Experience of advancing groups organisational and technical abilities
