    Your role in the team

     

    We are on the lookout for a talented Accountant to join our growing innovative corporate accounting team who deliver quality reporting, working at the forefront of developing capabilities in support of Allstate’s global business model.

    • Prepare reports and identify/resolve key issues
    • Prepare and review Allstate SEC reports, US GAAP audit reports and financial reporting sections of shareholder external communications, such as the quarterly earnings release and investor supplement
    • Prepare materials for certain committee meetings, such as the Audit Committee and Disclosure Committee
    • Assist in reviewing XBRL tagging
    • Complete SOX controls
    • Use advanced accounting principles and understand the concepts, rules and terminology to the science of accounting
    • Review and evaluate complex issues and analyze Accounting/Financial/technical information
    • Identify, develop and applies ideas and approaches to complex issues, solving problems and accomplishing goals
    • Assist entry level accountants as needed/ Line manager for assigned staff members
    • Assist with preparation of Statutory reports, as needed

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • A degree in related field
    • 1+ years of people management experience
    • Qualified Chartered Accountant, with 5+ years (3+ years Band C2) of related professional experience, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and standards, and the concepts, rules, and terminology common to financial accounting
    • Knowledge of financial statement reporting and related analysis
    • Advanced knowledge and the ability to use the concepts, techniques, and issues involved in planning projects and processes
    • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite with Excel formula experience (pivot tables, v-lookups etc.)
    • Detail oriented approach to work with ability to multitask while meeting deadlines
    • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Functional knowledge of general accounting processes and US GAAP
    • Possesses an inquisitive nature and demonstrates the ability to problem solve; not afraid to dig into the details and ask questions; ability to respond to ad hoc requests related to assigned tasks
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with various levels of management
    • Work effectively in a team environment
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities given aggressive timelines; comfortable performing in fast-paced, dynamic and ambiguous business environment
    • Good organizational and referencing skills related to work papers, financial statements and schedules
    • Focus on continuous improvements to ongoing processes
    • Attention to detail in workpapers and process documentation
