    As an Accounting Team Manager, the successful candidates will be leading a team based in Northern Ireland and the US working closely with the Allstate Finance and Accountancy functions in the USA. These areas support the Allstate Corporation in a wide range of activities from financial reporting, analysis and consulting to corporate and operational accounting. 

     

    Must be a team player able to demonstrate strong customer focus with the energy, drive and commitment to successfully work through any and all issues and objectives related to this role and that of the overall team. 

     

     

     

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

     

     

    • Reviews Treasury Stock Inventory and weighted average share repurchase calculation  

    • Reviews monthly Direct Cash Flow Reports for Property and Casualty Insurance companies 

    • Validation of schedules in the external disclosures for 10Qs and 10Ks related to capital and other corporate level transactions 

    • Reviews journal vouchers for capital transactions, intercompany activities, other corporate level transactions  

    • Plans, implements and manages large-scale projects and process improvements. 

    • Statutory Business Summary Analysis (‘BSA’) Review for all Property & Casualty and Life insurance companies 

    • Manage team of 4 for the overall workflow of the team. 

    • Responsible for performance management and ongoing development of team members. 

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • Degree in related field AND 

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant 

    • 3+ years of people management experience 

    • 5+ years’ relevant accounting experience with a strong understanding of accounting principles and the concepts, rules, and terminology common to financial accounting 

    • Advanced knowledge and the ability to use the concepts, techniques, and issues involved in planning projects and processes. 

    • Functional knowledge of general accounting processes and US GAAP. 

    • Understanding of internal control elements. 

    • Flexible to new ideas and ways of accomplishing tasks. 

    • Ability to use initiative. 

    • Unquestionable ethics and integrity with high degree of transparency and trust. 

    • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA

    • Having a logical and analytical approach. 

    • Good problem solving skills with an attention to detail. 

    • Strong organizational and time management skills. 

    • Ability to communicate well, build relationships and work as part of a team. 

    • Familiar with Microsoft Office and the ability to analyze, manipulate, and interpret large amounts of data. 

     

     

    Hours of Work

     

    • Standard hours Mon – Fri;
    • Flexibility to meet business needs as required;
    • Full time only.
