    Your role in the team

     

     

     

    The PMO Manager is accountable for resource management and delivery.

     

     

    With resource management, they confer with and advise direct reports on administrative policies and procedures, risks, issues, problem resolution, sourcing decisions, budget and priorities for employees and contractors/contingent works. This person will manage medium to large teams.

     

     

    For delivery, this individual plan, directs, designs, and executes technology-related activities and programs that are of a complex and critical nature. This person also assists in defining, implementing and prioritizing technology policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as supporting team and business results.

     

     

     

    People Management

     

     

    • Builds long-term relationships within team and amongst peers by creating an environment of safety and innovation
    • Champions open and honest communication, respects confidentiality and leads by example with integrity
    • Welcomes new idea and fosters an environment allowing people to learn from successes and failures
    • Collects staff performance data against desired outcomes and service level agreements
    • Executes HR-related processes and develops staff through coaching and mentoring and providing specific, timely, open, honest, and constructive performance feedback.

     

     

     

     

    General Management & Decision Making

     

     

    • Sets and executes team strategy, including objectives, plans and policies for area of responsibility so as to develop and deliver innovative solutions and systems in support of Enterprise goals.  Communicates strategy to the team so they understand their role in achieving the established goals.
    • Manages day to day work of employees by monitoring budgets, expenses and scope and facilitating project delivery and support for complex projects of critical importance.
    • Works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.  Makes decisions that have an impact on quality or effectiveness of business activities beyond their immediate team. 
    • Initiates and implements continuous improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.  
    • Anticipates issues and develops preventive measures.
    • Analyzes long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and contributes to Allstate business and functional strategy.

     

     

     

    Business Partner Management

     

     

    • Serve as a trusted advisor with direct reports, clients, service providers and peers to successfully deliver on business commitments. 
    • Partners with others in their organization to set and manage expectations; continually seeks opportunities to be a thought partner and increase internal business partner satisfaction and deepen relationships. 
    • Negotiates solutions for issues that may be complex or controversial.
    • Adapts communication approach for audiences at multiple internal and external levels

     

     

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
    • 5+ years people or technical leadership or equivalent experience leading a team or working in a team oriented collaborative environment with at least 2 years in a leadership role
    • 3+ years of experience with Agile Transformation, including Waterfall, Agile, Kanban and SAFe frameworks

     

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

     

    • Third level IT/Engineering/Management Degree
    • Significant experience delivering using multi-methodologies eg. agile scrum/XP
    • PMP, CSP, CSM, SAFe Agilist, SPC certification or equivalent certifications
    • Strong technical acumen
    • Tenured experience with Version 1 Software
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to present to executive level leadership
    • Has experience influencing and coaching others in a professional setting
