    Your role in the team

    Allstate Technology & Strategic Ventures (ATSV) Program Management Office (PMO) Project Managers and Scrum Masters are accountable for the successful delivery of technology solutions and services.

    The Scrum Master is the facilitator new Agile teams, assisting the teams and leaders to embrace the transition from waterfall to Agile values, adopt and apply principles, and support Lean-Agile practices. They reinforce and support the team rules such as Scrum, Kanban or other process rules the team has agreed upon including Definition of Ready (DoR) and the Definition of Done (DoD). The Scrum Master helps the teams foster an environment of high-performance, continuous flow, and relentless improvement. They understand common Agile anti-patterns and utilize a variety of techniques and methods to address them.

     

    • Ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team and by stakeholders, and that the team understands and practices agility
    • Facilitates Scrum ceremonies as needed, and reinforces the teams agreed upon rules including the definition of ready and done
    • Utilizes techniques for effective backlog management across multiple teams, and ensures the Product Owners knows how to arrange the product backlog to maximize value
    • Assists the teams in the transition from Waterfall to Agile and reinforces scrum values and practices, self-organization, cross functionality, and key performance metrics
    • Helps the teams create high value products by removing impediments, and protecting the team from distractions and complacency 
    • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and foster program collaboration 
    • Facilitates planning with multiple teams
    • Leads team efforts in relentless improvement by helping team members take responsibility for their actions, facilitating the team retrospectives, and teaching problem-solving techniques
    • Lead project based and service based associated streams of work and teams, departments and aspects of functional and business results managing associated relationships. 
    • Quickly assimilate domain knowledge of relevant business initiatives and objectives and how the project will deliver them using functional, business, and technical knowledge to deliver the best solution.
    • Assess and give transparency to service and project health in an objective manner, maintaining accurate status; communicating status and escalating any appropriate issues to be easily understood by the appropriate stakeholder audience
    • Communicate in both written and oral methods and tailor communication as required to liaise and influence up to senior leadership
    • Demonstrate Allstate values and behaviors
    • Actively contribute to the PMO and ANI community
    • Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required from time to time

     

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • At least 4 years demonstrable IT project management experience.
    • Demonstrated track record in delivering multiple complex projects, simultaneously, with a strong focus on execution.
    • Excellent written/oral communication and facilitation skills for communicating at all levels; including strong presentation skills.
    • Experience of creating sustained change, developing movement in team practices and maintaining momentum to keep up improvement as a culture in a diverse team.
    • Has deep understanding of the PO Role, Story Writing and their responsibilities and can help drive best practices

     

     

     

    We also have some desirable criteria

     

    • Experience of delivering multi-shore, multi-method projects
    • Experience of delivering insurance sector software development projects/products.
    • Relevant project management / delivery certifications e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, PSM/CSM, Scaled Agile SA/SP/SASM
    • Experience creating insights to workflow and value-based performance metrics
    • Experience of influencing decision making to ensure successful outcomes for the team.
    • Experience of leading diverse groups with differing priorities.
    • Experience in balancing differing stakeholders needs effectively and to successful outcome.
    • Ability to package the learning and use it in other associated teams
    • Able to modify and adapt to context to select the appropriate framework and techniques utilizing industry best practices
    • Innovative mindset and strategic future oriented behaviors
