Web Support Team Leader

  • The goal of Information Services is to provide the highest quality information services and resources in support of the education and research activities of the students and staff of the University.

    The post holder will be responsible for the design, development, delivery and management of the enterprise wide web support systems, including e-learning technical solutions.

    Duties will include carrying out the lead role in the design, development, deployment and support of the University Content Management System (CMS) Services, as well as taking primary responsibility for analysing the business requirements and prioritising development to support web and e-learning solutions.

    The successful candidate must have:

    • An honours or higher degree or equivalent.

    OR

    At least 6 years’ professional management experience leading teams developing online business solutions in an IT environment in a complex organisation.

    • Four years’ experience of designing, developing, deploying and supporting online applications.

    • Experience of administering/configuring an enterprise wide Content Management System (CMS) delivering websites.

    • Experience of managing a team, delivering significant web based applications.

    • Experience managing projects using modern project management techniques.

    • Experience of developing high quality professional web content using HTML, JavaScript and CSS.

    • Demonstrable knowledge of how to use at least two modern technologies to support e-learning, e.g. video capture/streaming; online assessment facilities; interactive lecture tools; social media.

    • Knowledge of developing for the web using two modern development frameworks (e.g. Foundation, Bootstrap etc.)

    Salary scale: £40,792 - £50,132 per annum (potential to progress to £53,175 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
