  Who you’ll be working with:  

  Working with the Director of Incubator, Senior Director of Emerging Business and Technology, and the wider Innovation and Incubator group, the Senior Innovation Manager partners with senior stakeholders across Liberty Mutual to explore, test, and implement enterprise scale innovation efforts. 

  Experience and skills we need:  

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant senior IT leadership experience with a proven track record of achieving outstanding results through innovation. 
  • An experienced agile practitioner with knowledge of leading IT teams in an agile environment 
  • Proven track record and interest in building a culture of innovation within a department. 
  • Experienced in technology POC’s and concepts. 
  • Experienced in building and establishing new teams in a technology organisation 
  • Extensive understanding of business operations, strategies and objectives. 
  • Experience in building deep stakeholder and vendor relationships 
  • Good knowledge of current technology trends and processes, with an exposure to emerging technology trends and processes

  • Experience and knowledge of the Insurance industry. 

  • Experience in applying product discovery and design techniques. 

  • A third level degree in a STEM related subject. 

   

  What you’ll be doing:  

  The Senior Innovation Manager is a senior leadership role at Liberty IT, with responsibilities across 4 areas. 

  Innovation and Strategy 

  • Contribute to the definition and enhancement of Liberty IT’s innovation strategy. 

  • Implement the strategy through partnership with Liberty Mutual stakeholders, customers and thenLiberty IT organisation. 

  • Partner with technology leaders in Liberty IT, Liberty Mutual, and in other organisations to build a culture of innovation. 

  • Collaborate with Liberty IT’s Director of Incubator and Senior Director of Emerging Business and Technology to ensure alignment on strategy and execution. 

  • Identify and prusue innovation opportunities for the Innovation and Incubator groups. 

  • Facilitate, form, promote, and build a culture of innovation across Liberty IT. 

   

  Leading the development new capabilities 

  • Lead the Innovation group and the LIT Incubator to ensure a strong focus on emergent technologies and concepts. 

  • Partner with senior steakeholders and CIOs to influence the adoption of emergent technologies and concepts to enable transformative innovation for the benefit of Liberty IT and the wider Luberty Mutual group. 

  • Research and explore new capabilities in the wider insurance, insurtech and other industries. Engage and research with thought leaders across multiple industries to proactively identify what capabilities may be beneficial to Liberty IT and Liberty Mutual. 

  • Assess new capabilities with a view to scaling and optimising their adoption to Liberty IT and Liberty Mutual. 

  • Play a lead role in embedding these capabilities across the Liberty IT organsiation, delivering high business value to the organisation and our customers. 

  • Evolves the capabilities of the group through the introduction of new thinking and approaches. 

   

  People and Teams 

  • Form teams of the right mix of people through optimal resourcing of teams and capabiltiies. 

  • Build a culture of empowerment and self-regulation to drive a high performing environment. 

  • Establish key team metrics and objectives. Proactively assesses team delivery against these to ensure the delivery of business value, taking action when appropriate. 

  • Remove impediments to ensure teams are well formed and resourced. 

  • Provide guidance, management and leadership to people across teams. 

  • Ensure appropriate processes and technologies are being applied in each team. 

   

  Liberty IT 

  • As a Senior Leader of Liberty IT, play a key role in enabling the organisation to achieve their strategic goals. 

  • Partner with peers and other Senior Leaders in Liberty IT to collaborate and deliver organisation level initiatives. 

  • Actively share your learnings and achievements with relevant audiences in Liberty IT, Liberty Mutual and at external events.
